Funeral services for William "Andy" Anderson, 82, of Sugar Land, TX, are set for 5:00 PM Friday, August 16, 2013, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel, 1201 Fourth Street, Rosenberg, TX, 77471, with the Rev. Dr. Phil Lineberger officiating. Burial will held at a later date at Houston National Cemetery, Houston, TX.


Visitation will be 4 - 5:00 PM Friday, August 16, 2013, at the funeral home chapel for one hour preceding the funeral service.


He was born William Lanease Anderson on December 24, 1930, in Harlingen, TX, to Oather C. Anderson and Nadine Thomas Anderson. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 14, 2013. Andy proudly served in the US Navy. He was married to Mildred Cox Anderson for 56 years. Andy served as the Educational Director for 50 years at First Baptist Church Sugar Land, and he was currently a member at Sugar Land Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and choir member. He also served on the Board of Directors for South Texas Children's Home and Fort Bend Academy.


He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his loving wife, Mildred Cox Anderson; two daughters, Kim Anderson Sanduski and husband, James Ray, and Deborah Anderson; his namesake grand daughter, Andi Nicole Sanduski; sister, Jo Hatfield; and niece, Kelly Deimling.
