Wilfred Engeling's Obituary
Wilfred "Bill" Engeling, 87, of Needville was born on October 25, 1928, and passed away on August 10, 2016, at home with his darling wife by his side.
He was a devoted Christian and a life time member of Hope Lutheran Church in Beasley. He retired from the Texas Highway Department after many years of service. He then spent his time with his kids, gardening, and going to the livestock auction. He also loved helping out with the Fort Bend County Youth Rodeo, and he received the "Top Hand" award in 1983.
He is preceded in death by his parents, August F. and Meta Engeling; his infant daughter, Sandra Jean; and his siblings, Ervin Engeling, Mildred Gerstmann, Henry Engeling and Elverda Ognoskie.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Lorene; his children, Richard Engeling and wife Karen, Patsy Kitchens and husband George, Brenda McGuigan and husband Patrick, Karen Lightfoot and husband Doug, Melissa Rhodes and husband Curtis, Billy Engeling and wife Dawn; grandchildren, Jimmy Kitchens and wife Shannon, Greg Kitchens and wife Sheryl, Kristen Seay and husband Jeremy, Daniel Lightfoot and wife Brandy, Kevin Lightfoot and wife Heather, Cydney Taylor and husband Cory, Kaitlan Rhodes, Jacob Rhodes, and 13 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
The family would like to thank AMED Hospice, especially Angelica Vargas, for the comforting care provided for their loved one and family.
Visitation will be 5 - 7:00 PM Monday, August 15, 2016, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel, 3103 School Street, Needville, TX 77461.
The funeral services will be held 10 AM Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at Hope Lutheran Church, 7302 Avenue C, Beasley, TX 77417, with burial following at Friedens United Church of Christ Cemetery, Beasley, TX.
Pallbearers will include Jimmy Kitchens, Greg Kitchens, Daniel Lightfoot, Kevin Lightfoot, Jacob Rhodes, Jeremy Seay, and honorary pallbearer Cory Taylor.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Lutheran Church in Beasley.
