Reverend Stanley Ross Rule, 72, of Needville, Texas passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, surrounded by his family. A beloved husband, father, papa, brother, pastor and friend, Stan loved his family, friends, church and community dearly and dedicated his life to serving them. Whether he was preaching on a Sunday morning, cheering on his children, and later his grandchildren, from the stands of Needville Bluejay Stadium, or listening to a friend in need of a sympathetic ear, Stan lived well and loved deeply.

Born on October 14, 1952, in Herington, Kansas, Stan was the youngest child of Homer and Cleo Doris Rule. He grew up with his sisters Elizabeth and Ruth, and his brother Roger, bringing mischievous fun as only the baby of the family can. After high school, Stan traveled with the musical ministry group, Maranatha Messengers. It was during one of these music events that he met and immediately fell in love with Judy Daniels. Three months later, they were married on September 23, 1972. Stan and Judy have enjoyed 52 years of marriage, ministry and music.

Throughout his life, Stan served the church faithfully in various pastoral roles and as a chaplain and registrar for Memorial Hermann Hospital. Stan was an accomplished preacher and teacher yet never shied away from rolling up his sleeves and doing what needed to be done, no matter how insignificant or inglorious the task. He served out of his love for Jesus and is now singing and worshipping his beloved Savior and Lord face to face.

Stan is survived by his wife, Judy, his son Matt and daughter Carrie, 10 grandchildren (Annie, Rosalan, Mark, Lizzie, Emily, Hailey, Madison, Bethany, Jackson and Hadley) and one great-grandchild (Scarlett). He is also survived by his sisters, Elizabeth and Ruth. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Roger, and his son Caleb.

A time for Visitation will be at Carmel Church, 12412 TX-36, Needville, Texas 77461 from 5 - 7:00 PM on Friday, January 17, 2025.

A Service to Celebrate Stan's life will be held at Carmel Church in Needville, Texas, at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 18, 2025. All are welcome.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Mark Rule, David Drake, Matt Rule, Christopher White, Andy Friesen, and Joe McGraw.
