Sidney Joseph
Laza
Apr 14, 1945 — Jun 7, 2024
Needville
Sidney Joseph Laza
Sidney was born on April 14, 1945 to Frank Joseph Laza and Julia Michalec Laza.
He is preceded in death by his wife and best friend, Ruth Ann Laza. They met on a Friday and married the following Friday on May 6, 1966, and eventually lived the rest of the their lives on Dannhaus Road in Needville. Sidney longed to be reunited with his sweetheart Ruth Ann and on Friday, June 7th at 11:15pm he was able to have that reunion with the love of his life.
They both had a love for animals especially their "puppies" who were all very special companions that they loved dearly. Sidney enjoyed being outdoors whether it was fishing, mowing, gardening, or just sitting under his carport enjoying a cool breeze. He had many visitors and many conversations in that spot and it was where he was most happy. Sidney was the first one to offer a helping hand and the last one to ask for help unless it involved food. He never turned down a good casserole, cheese enchiladas, or cake.
Sidney thoroughly enjoyed his Dannhaus Neighborhood and had a special relationship with all the families that lived there. He was known as the "Grandpa of the Neighborhood" but he liked to refer to himself as "The Mayor of Longpoint" which is how he would introduce himself to the new neighbors. If you knew Sidney, you knew that he was a jokester and liked a good laugh and that is how he will be remembered by those who loved him.
