Shirley Ann Ferguson's Obituary
Shirley Ann Ferguson of Needville, TX, went to be with her Lord on April 15, 2014, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Tarkington Prairie, TX, on July 31, 1938 to Alfred and Rosie Young.
Shirley graduated from the Lillie Jolly School of Nursing, Memorial Hospital, Houston, TX, on September 8, 1959, and worked as a Registered Nurse at Polly Ryon Hospital in Richmond and other medical facilities. She was a Methodist by faith and loved spending time with her family, painting, sewing, and making her dolls with personality.
She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband of 35 years, Fred Ferguson, and her brother Leon Young.
She is survived by her son Kenny Ferguson and Carolyn of Jacksonville, NC; daughters Lori Ferguson of San Antonio, TX, and Cindy Campos and husband, Joe, of Boling, TX; sister Lois Roberts of Wimberly, TX; grandchildren Teddy Woodridge, Tanya Eddington, and Chris Ferguson, and great-grandchild Cade Woodridge. The family would like to express special thanks to Anita and Linda of Hospice Plus.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital at donors@stjude.org or by phone at (800) 805-5856.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April17, 2014, from 5-7PM at the Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel, 3103 School St., Needville, TX 77461.
A Memory of Shirley's life will be officiated by Carolyn on Friday, April 18, 2014, at 10AM, in the Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel, 3103 School St., Needville, TX 77461. Burial will follow at Davis Greenlawn Cemetery.
