Ronald Dean Garver, age 88, passed away on September 24, 2026, in Needville, Texas. He was born in 1938, in Decatur, Illinois, to Bernard and Beulah Garver.

Ronald was married to his wife Susan for 59 years. He is survived by his wife and their children, Peggy (Eldon), and Philip (Brandy); He is also survived by his daughters Barbara (Mark), and Cathy (John); and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ronald spent the majority of his career working with computers. He retired from Cameron Oil Tools after 28 years, where he worked in Management Information Systems. His interest in computers extended well beyond his career; computers were also a hobby he was passionate about and enjoyed throughout his life.

Ronald was devoted to his work and to his church. He was a longtime member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Needville, Texas, where he had been a member since 1983. He served as church treasurer for 25 years and also sang in the church choir.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Susan; and his grandson, Matthew.

He will be remembered by his family, friends, and members of his church for his dedication to his work, his church, and his lifelong passion for computers.

Honorary pall bearers are his long-time friends Ron Gardner, Greg Carlson, and Tony Cypert.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Needville, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Paul's Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund.
