Roel Ricardo
Gonzalez
Aug 6, 1980 — Apr 9, 2021
Pearland
A Rosary for Roel Ricardo Gonzalez, 40, of Pearland, TX, will be 4:00 PM Saturday, April 17, 2021, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, Edinburg, Texas, with Stephanie Suarez officiating, followed by the Eulogy given by family and friends.
Roel Ricardo Gonzalez, known to most as "Bulle" was born in McAllen, Texas August 6, 1980 to Mr. and Mrs. Ruben L. and Janie Gonzalez. He battled Covid-19 and after three weeks his diligent fight came to a place of final rest and peace on April, 9, 2021.
He is survived by his parents, brother, Ruben Gonzalez, twin sister, Lorena Gonzaz Vandersand, sister Leanna Gonzalez, his life partner, Erica Zuniga, and nieces and nephews, who knew him as "Tio Bulle". He is survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins who all knew him as a kind and gentle soul.
Roel grew up in Edinburg, Texas attending Edinburg North High school with some of his greatest achievements and joys participating in the high school choir. Yet, his most stunning gifts were probably riding horses and roping. He was masterful and effortless and he'd take your money easily, fair and square, by doing what other ropers could do, but just doing it faster. In 2001, he moved to Victoria, Texas and found more of his talents and skills as a machinist. In 2018, he moved to Houston, Texas for a new job, but he really moved to Houston to be with the love of his life, Erica Zuniga.
For many years, Roel and Erica shared amazing adventures together. They went to the Grand Canyon, Alaska, and Las Vegas. Their bags were always packed and ready for the next place to explore. They had so many places they were ready to experience together. For the last year, he and Erica made the most of their quarantine. They spent every moment together, cooking and baking, staying up late and cherishing the bliss of just being together. They truly spoiled each other and did more in the last few years than some people do their whole life. The adventures that really made his life meaningful were the trips to the flea markets, BBQ's, the backyards of friends and up and down the road from Houston to the Valley.
Roel was a gift. His life wasn't always easy, but he did it with a sense of humor, kindness, and appreciation. He cared and loved deeply, and he always insisted that he would never want anyone to hurt or suffer. So, celebrate him and his gifts. Remember the joys and love he shared and his tremendous smile. His life may have been too short but his impact will last forever.
