Houston
Rhonda Marie Hausler, 71, of Houston, TX, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2022, with family by her side. Rhonda fought a 19-month battle with Glioblastoma. From the beginning, it was Rhonda's desire to aid in any possible research to fight the disease. She willingly participated in several clinical trials and, in the end, donated her body to further study of the disease.
Rhonda Marie Hausler was born November 29, 1950, in Rosenberg, TX. She attended Sam Houston State University where she received a bachelor's degree in social work. She spent her career helping children at Children's Protective Services, then older adults at Amerigroup. Rhonda was always there with an open heart for anyone in need. She truly loved being able to help those who reached out to her.
Rhonda is survived by her sisters, Gayle Heuer and husband Brian of Katy, TX, and Jo Ann Davey and husband Allen of Willis, TX; Rhonda's niece, Tammy Cayton of Willis, TX, and nephew Rick Cayton, wife Monica and their two children Mia and Nathaniel of Rhome, TX. Rhonda also loved her aunts, uncles and cousins. Family was very important to Rhonda.
The family wishes to thank Dr. J. Zhu and staff at Memorial Hermann Hospital for their care and concern over the last 19 months, and also the staff at Temporary Home Care with special thanks to Kendra. Rhonda had many friends, especially the "girls", ya'll know who you are. She loved you and so wanted to see you again but there just wasn't time.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Messages for the family can be left online at garmanycarden.com.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the Glioblastoma Foundation or a charity of your choice in Rhonda's name.
Arrangements are under the direction of Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors, 1201 Fourth Street, Rosenberg, TX 77471 (281)342-4671.
