Obituary

Ranelle Schultz Krejci, beloved wife, mother, and Mimi, died peacefully in Houston, TX, on December 4th, 2024. She was a lifelong resident of the Richmond area.

Ranelle was born in Richmond to Emmitt and Maurine Schultz and was fortunate to enjoy a wonderful childhood with her two siblings, Steve and Lisa, and a large group of loving grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins nearby. She graduated from Lamar Consolidated High School where she enjoyed performing in choir activities and musicals. Always a trailblazer, she was proud to tell us that she was the first person to perform a strip scene on the high school stage in her senior musical, Plain and Fancy. While in high school, she met Ray Krejci on a blind date, and they were married shortly after her graduation.

Ranelle worked as a teacher's aide with LCISD until she started her family. She and Ray raised three daughters, Heather, Mandy, and Dani, while also running a business together for most of their marriage. Ranelle devoted her whole life to her family. She always said raising her girls was the happiest time of her life. She volunteered, substitute taught, led music groups, and served on the school board at Calvary Episcopal School from the time Heather entered Kindergarten until Dani graduated 8th grade. She continued to throw herself wholeheartedly into her daughters' activities, particularly choir and theater activities at Lamar Consolidated High School.

Ranelle found perhaps her greatest joy when she became a Mimi to Reese, Jack, Aspen, and Gwen. They all enjoyed countless special adventures and "don't tell your mom" moments throughout the past 24 years, and she took great joy and pride in everything they did.

Ranelle loved music and theater throughout her life. During the 80's and 90's, she was a member of the Tom Phillips' Madrigals and loved performing around Fort Bend County. She was also a founding board member and served as musical director and director at Playhouse 90 in Rosenberg. In recent years, she became actively involved in the Calvary Episcopal theater program as a volunteer director with her dear friend, Paula Smith.

Ranelle was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, her granddaughters Emma and Hannah McBride, and her beloved husband Ray. She is survived by her daughters: Heather, her husband Caley McBride, and son Reese; Mandy, her husband, Collin Casey, and their children, Jack and Aspen; and Dani, her husband John Hendrick, and daughter Gwen. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Lisa Mann, and many cousins, nieces, and devoted friends.
