Obituary

Olivia Frieda Julia Tiemann, 93, a long-time resident of Fairchilds, TX, peacefully went to heaven to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 11, 2026. She was residing at The Reserve at Katy Assisted Living in Katy, TX. She was born January 30, 1932 in the Beasley, TX area to Henry and Hilma (Oberrender) Thielemann.

As a teenager, Olivia was active in 4-H; she was the Ft. Bend County 4-H Gold Star Girl in 1948. She graduated from the first class of Lamar Consolidated High School in Rosenberg, TX in 1949. She married Elton Tiemann on October 24, 1953, and they were happily married for 59 years until his death in 2012. Olivia and Elton were blessed with four children and were very proud of them.

Olivia was baptized, confirmed, and married in Immanuel Evangelical Church in Needville, TX where she continued to worship until moving to assisted living in 2020. For 18 plus years, she helped with Sunday School and also played the piano. For over 40 years, she helped provide refreshments for funeral receptions at her church. While in assisted living, she was the Resident of the Month twice.

Olivia was a loving wife who worked alongside her husband on the farm they purchased in 1962, sharing in the daily work of the farm and meticulously maintaining its records. She was a talented seamstress, cook, baker, canner, and enjoyed gardening. Her family looked forward to her homemade dinner rolls and cinnamon rolls at family dinners. Olivia really enjoyed visits with her family. Over the years, she also enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and playing the keyboard.

Olivia was a devoted mother whose love, strength, gentle spirit, and strong work ethic live on in her children. She is survived by her children, Joyce Evans and husband Bob of Houston, TX; Jeanette Suchma and husband Mark of Richmond, TX; Calvin Tiemann and wife Leticia of Youngsville, LA; and Darryl Tiemann and wife Joanne of Thornton, CO. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Steven Suchma and wife Heather of Fischer, TX; David and Thomas Tiemann of Youngsville, LA; Emily Tiemann of Arvada, CO, and Olivia Tiemann of Greeley, CO; and great-granddaughters Tori, Stella, and Tedi Suchma of Fischer, TX.

Olivia is also survived by her brother, Clarence Thielemann and wife Erna; sisters, Evelyn Schmidt and husband Raymond, and Doris Thielemann; brother-in-law Otto Tiemann, Jr. and wife Laverne; and many nieces and nephews.

Olivia was preceded in death by her husband Elton and her parents; sisters-in-law, Hilda Roehe, Gladys Pape, Dorothy Tiemann, and Erna Mae Requardt; and brothers-in law, Raymond Roehe, Lyt Pape, Melvin Tiemann, Hugo Requardt, and Charles Hollas.

The family is grateful for the staff at The Reserve at Katy Assisted Living and Blue Star Hospice for their care.
