Mona Ruth Morgan, 89, of Needville, TX passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2018 peacefully at home surrounded by her husband, the love of her life and two eldest granddaughters. Mona Ruth Otto was born August 31, 1928 to Monroe Charles and Lottie Otto, of Needville, Tx.

She was a graduate of Richmond High School class of 1945. She married her high school sweetheart, Lee Denny Morgan on February 27, 1948 and made their home in Needville, TX. Mona Ruth graduated from WCJC in 1959 and then from University of Houston with a BS in Education in 1961. She was a lifetime member of Phi Kappa Phi and Kappa Delta Pi. She taught for over 20 years in Houston ISD.

She loved education, sending holiday cards, the Christmas season, the outdoors, hiking, bird watching, rock collecting, being in the mountains and in nature; she was an avid lover and collector of all things Native American, pottery, rugs, jewelry, and artifacts. She enjoyed painting and photographs. She loved her children, grandchildren, great- grandchildren and close family friends and neighbors.

She is preceded in death by her parents Monroe and Lottie Otto, brother Monroe Otto, and daughter Bunny Morgan. She is survived by her loving, devoted husband of over 70 years, Lee Denny Morgan; son, Lee Denny Morgan II, grandsons Landon and Clint Morgan; granddaughters and grandsons in law, Amanda and Dustin Frankum, Jeff and Lindsey Shimek, Autumn Isleib; great grandchildren, Brody, Coy and Brant Frankum and Delaney Shimek. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

A private family graveside service will be held in Needville Public Cemetery, Needville, TX.
