Milton was born in Beasley, TX on February 1, 1933 to Henry and Pauline Weidemann Poehls. He passed away on Tuesday evening, November 7, 2017 at his home in Beasley. His mother died when he was two years old, leaving his dad to take care of the family. He attended schools in Beasley, Booth, and Lamar, graduating from Lamar High School in 1950. After graduating from school, he started working for a Seismograph Company. Then he was employed with WKM and later went to work for Gulf States Tube Division of Quanex Corp as a machinist. He was later promoted to machine shop foreman where he worked up to his retirement after 40 years of service.

Milton was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ in Beasley. He was baptized at Friedens on October 16, 1934 and confirmed on March 30, 1947. In years past, he served on the Church Council and Cemetery Board. He also was a Beasley Volunteer Fireman and served on the City Council.

He was an avid reader, loved the outdoors, enjoyed gardening and going to his "retreat" home in Somerville with his family and eating at Mama's Kitchen.

He was the happiest person on earth when he was with his family and grandkids. He loved attending his grandkids' sports games and school activities. He also loved going to the deer lease with his grandson and talking with him about his farming job.

Milton is survived by his wife, Barbara Boone Poehls; his son, Mark Poehls and wife Stephanie; and grandchildren Shelby, Aaron, and Abigail Poehls. He is also survived by his brother Lawrence Poehls and wife Christine; his sister Pauline Fischer; his brother and sister in law Ed and Geraldine Kegley; and their family, Robert, Kelley, Joshua and Kayla Drabek as well as many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his infant son; his parents; his brother, Jessey Poehls and wife Betty; and his sisters Florence Kaack Leissner, Selma Williams and husband Norman, Matilda Meyer and husband Albert, and Myrtle Poehls.
