Mary Ann
Trahan Grayless
Jul 12, 1944 — Mar 20, 2026
Richmond
Mary Ann Grayless, 81, was born on July 12, 1944, in Shiner, Texas, to Freddie and Vlasta Trahan. She passed on March 20, 2026, after a courageous battle with dementia. Mary Ann was raised in Richmond, Texas, where as a child she had a love for horses and rodeo. She met Robert Grayless in 1961 and they were married in Aurora, Colorado, August 5, 1962. Robert and Mary Ann welcomed two children, Jeffrey(Jeff) and Robert(Bobby) Grayless.
Mary Ann and Robert shared a life full of adventure and joy. They enjoyed driving to NASCAR races in their motorhome, traveling to Las Vegas (The Slot Machine Queen), attending concerts, snow skiing, and the most memorable trips traveling to Hawaii, the Bahamas, and Alaska. Many months of the year they'd travel to state festivals across Texas with friends. Whether it was the Rattlesnake Roundup, the Strawberry Festival, or any small-town celebration in between, chances were they were there.
Mary Ann worked for Reese Insurance once the boys were of school age, where she later purchased his book of business, and opened Grayless Insurance Agency in 1990. She was extremely passionate about her career, her boys and especially her grandchildren. Mary Ann ended every day in her back yard swing with Robert drinking a glass of white wine.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 63 years and her two sons; her grandchildren, Heather (Grayless) Williams, Lacy (Grayless) Kramer, Jeremy Grayless, Landen Grayless, Danny, Arianna and Tristan and great grandchildren Kate, Della, Cora, Koen, Koy, Jadelyn, and Mabel.
She is preceded in death by her parents Freddie and Vlasta Trahan, her brother Freddie Trahan Jr. and granddaughter Jordan Grayless.
No matter what came Mary Ann's way, she carried herself with positivity and passion. May she be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, with more strength and grace than you could imagine. Mary Ann had a smile that could light up any room and never met a stranger. Her love, humor, and unwavering devotion to her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered. May she rest in peace in the arms of her Jesus.
