Mary Ann Young, 83, rejoined her family and Savior in heaven on Sunday July 24, 2016. She had resided at her home in Rosenberg until moving to the Silverado Memory Care Center in Sugar Land, TX.

Born in Pearland, TX, on February 14, 1933, to Leon and Wanda Martin, she came into this world on Valentine's Day and was greatly loved by all. Raised on a dairy farm she loved the outdoors, but did not like milking cows every day of the year!

She attended grade school in Houston, graduating from Sugar Land High School in 1951. Mary had many interests. She loved to fish, deer hunt, and loved working in her yard.

Preceded in death by her parents Leon and Wanda Martin, brothers Thomas and Paul Martin, nephew Dale Martin, and niece Paula McCloskey. Her husband, Jerry Young, and stepson, Billy Duty, also preceded her.

Left to cherish her memory are Jerry Young's daughters Patty Young and Rita Young, step son Vernon Duty and wife Kathleen, grandchildren Devon and David Duty, Jerry Meyer, Brandy Eckles Meyer, Promise Tachtevrdnidis, Marion Farber, Danielle Hayes, brother John Henry Martin, and her two sisters-in-law, Margaret Young and Cherry Martin.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of the Silverado Memory Care Center, Sugar Land, for their dedication and loving care to Mary.

Memorial donations may be given in her memory to The Alzheimer's Association, 6055 South Loop East, Houston, TX 77087.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, August 3rd at 11 A.M. at Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel, 1201 Fourth Street, Rosenberg, TX 77471.
