Our sweet mother, Kim Allyson Matthews, passed away unexpectedly the morning of March 6, 2023, at the age of 68. She was just 8 days shy of her 69th birthday. Kim was born and raised in Southern California, but has been a long time resident of Richmond, Texas, where she was living when she passed. She was the sweetest, most loving person and will be deeply mourned and missed by her friends and family. Kim loved nothing more than spending her days playing games and visiting with girlfriends, along with DIY home decor projects with her daughter. She was affectionately called the energizer bunny because she seldomly slowed down, but if she did have a lazy afternoon, you'd find her watching HGTV and looking up houses on HAR. She spent her career as an escrow officer and had a love of houses and home decor.
Kim is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and JoAnne Chamberlin, and her eldest son, Bryan. She is survived by her siblings, Nikki and husband John Toll, Tim and wife Beth Chamberlin, her son Kevin and wife Mercedes (along with their son Steven), her son Bradley and her daughter Courtney and her husband Preston. She is also survived by her eldest son's children Brayden, Shannon, and Samantha.
The Funeral Service will be held 10 AM Friday, March 17, 2023, at St. Johns United Methodist Church,
400 Jackson St., Richmond, TX 77469
, and then Kim will be laid to rest at Morton Cemetery, Richmond, TX 77469.
Visitation will be 9 - 10 AM Friday at the church, for one hour preceding the Funeral Service.
