Obituary

Kathleen Faye Janecka Gajevsky, 79, passed away peacefully on Tuesday February 18, 2020 in Needville, Texas.

Kathleen was born on July 16, 1940 in Rosenberg, Texas, to Rudolph and Sophie Janecka. She graduated from Needville High School Class of 1958. She met her future husband, Delbert, when she was a bridesmaid and he was a groomsman in their friends Gene and Bessie Vasek's wedding. They married July 16, 1960 and settled in Needville, where they raised their 2 daughters.

Kathleen held secretarial positions at Case Equipment and Needville City Hall, where she also served as an Alderman for the city council. She spent her entire life in Needville and could answer any question about the town and community.

Kathleen enjoyed the simple things in life and had a life well lived. She and Delbert loved spending time at their farm in El Campo, going to their grandchildrens' games, spending time with family, and traveling with their friends, Dennis and Dorothy. She loved the Lord and was a devoted member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church. Kathleen was a loving mother, grandmother "Gran" and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed.

Kathleen is preceded in death by her husband Delbert, brother Darrell "Butchie" Janecka, and parents Rudolph and Sophie Janecka. She is survived by her daughters Cheryl Brandt and husband Stan, Carol Lehman and husband Randy; grandchildren Will Brandt and wife Kolleen, Ashley Sabrsula, Ryan Brandt, Corey Lehman and wife Tiffany, and Shea Lehman; great-granddaughter Macie Linn Hobbs and future great-granddaughter Addison Mae Brandt; brother-in-law Marvin Gajevsky and wife Lillian; nephews Matthew Gajevsky and wife Sondra, and Dean Gajevsky; and niece, Amy Vera and husband, Adam.

Kathleen also had the most wonderful people come into her life to assist in her care. A special thank you to Mary Alice Arrendondo, Jan Hartfield, Houston Hospice, and Reliable Oaks Assisted Living.
