Obituary

JULIA MARION GRAFF

Born September 24, 1932     Died February 7, 2020

She was the only child of William Graff II and Alice Marie (Paysse) Graff. She never married and was content to live with her parents until their deaths.

She is survived by many dear cousins in Texas and New Jersey.

Her dad was a U.S. Army officer during WWII and was stationed for a time in Shanghi, China. Judy and her mother traveled by ship to meet him and resided in China for two years. Upon their return from China, the family lived in Tampa, FL. Subsequently moving to Bellaire, TX to be near her mother's family.

Having missed two years of high school while in China, Judy completed her high school studies in Florida, proudly graduating in Tampa. When the family moved to Bellaire TX, her dad took a course in watchmaking, then taking a job in a jewelry store repairing watches, which afforded Judy and
her dad an opportunity to become collectors of rocks and jewels, which she proudly wore for dress-up occasions including church. Judy and her family joined the Presbyterian Church in Bellaire, Texas and Judy faithfully sang in that choir and subsequently in the Rosenberg First Presbyterian church choir for some thirty years. She was a deacon in the Rosenberg First Presbyterian church, helping schedule the services and activities of the church.

She kept a journal, recording daily activities every evening before retiring. She was an avid "Movie Buff", and collected recordings of every Disney Movie, and enjoyed watching them "over and over" through the years. She was a member of the Pilot Club in Florida and Red Hat Club in Rosenberg. She was a crafter; making beautiful hand made Christmas ornaments, some of which she kept to beautify her own Christmas tree and some of which she gave as Christmas gifts! She bought a book on Calligraphy and used that skill to make and send hand made birthday cards to all her relatives and friends.

She was a writer, turning her memories into stories: "Dustin Finds His Voice" about a small Collie dog was one. Another was "From Here to There and Back Again" which was autobiographical, and she enjoyed sharing it with anyone who enjoyed reading.

She was a very gifted Christian lady admired by many until the dreaded disease, Alzheimer's, claimed her memory. The disease was able to
steal her memory but could not take away her salvation and love of God and His kingdom!

So, we honor Christ who saved her and the COUSIN we all loved. Although she became difficult to deal with in her last years, because of her strong
faith in Christ we believe that today she is singing the Hallelujah Chorus in God's Choir!
