Graveside Services for John Edward Taylor, 96, of Richmond, TX, are set for 11 AM Monday, November 13, 2017, at Sanders Cemetery, 23589 Sanders Cemetery Road, Magnolia, TX 77354.


John was born December 20, 1920, in Matagorda, TX, to John Otis Taylor and Imogene May Englehart Taylor. He passed away Sunday, November 5, 2017, in Richmond, TX. He served in the US Navy in the South Pacific from 1942 - 1945. John was a lifelong member of Christ Church of Matagorda, TX. He was a member of Rosenberg Lodge #881. After forty-one years, he retired from Exxon in October 1982.


Preceded in death by his mother, Imogene May Englehart Taylor, by his father, John Otis Taylor, and by his wife, Carrol Glynn Miner Taylor.


Survivors include his stepdaughter, Judy Chapman and husband, Gary; granddaughter, Laurie Chase and husband, Carl; grandson, Jimmy Chapman and wife, Linda; and four great-grandchildren.
