Obituary

John William Saenz-Gummelt

07-21-1997 – 02-08-2022

Our beloved son, brother, grandson, cousin, and friend died on February 08, 2022. No words can explain our loss. He was such a bright, creative, and artistic individual that pursued many interests in his short time with us. He is so missed, and we will never understand why he died at the age of 24.

John was compassionate to others and often organized food drives and clothing drives for homeless people living on the streets in Houston. On several occasions, having run out of clothing for the homeless, he would take off the shoes, shirt, or jacket he was wearing to give to a homeless person. He always wanted to help someone that was "down on their luck" or going through a difficult time.

John was competitive in sports and loved playing club and school soccer throughout his elementary, middle school, and high school years. He also enjoyed writing computer codes and working on and repairing laptops and desktop computers. This ability was self-taught, and he really enjoyed helping friends with computer issues. He was interested in how things worked and would do "reverse engineering" to learn how the devices(s) worked and if it could be modified and improved.

In his late teens John became interested in music. He would write the lyrics, compose, and record the music, and self-produce his songs to Spotify, Instagram, and other venues. He had tens of thousands of followers from Germany, Russia, Brazil, and server other countries.

John had also been modeling for high fashion designers for a few years and was looking forward to some upcoming photo shoots and modeling events. Some of the designers that he worked with have already contacted us to express their shock and condolences.

May he be at peace now until we join him in Heaven.

We love you forever. You were our sunshine!
