John Michael Opich, 62, of Rosenberg, Texas died peacefully at home on October 25, 2016 after a long battle with liver cancer. The only son of Carl and Shirley Opich, John was born a twin in St. Louis, Missouri on September 13, 1954 and was the second (by 6 minutes) of 3 children. John met the love of his life, Rebecca Stelson, while attending Mizzou. They were married in 1980.

John is survived by his beloved wife, Becky; eldest son Michael; son John Randolph (Randy); and daughter Alice; parents Carl and Shirley Opich; sisters Sharon and Rose and their families; and a host of relatives by marriage.
John attracted people with his charismatic personality and unique sense of humor. He was a hunting enthusiast who loved the outdoors. Besides John's love of people and hunting, he also loved rocks, his Z-car, volunteering with Boy Scouts of America and FFA, and most of all his family.
He served as Director on the Board of the Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District No. 25 and as an Advisor on the Alumni's Geological Sciences Development Board at the University of Missouri. John's mind was unconstrained by convention. He was a loving son, husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be greatly missed.
