Services for John Dale Ohl, 50, of Needville, TX, are set for 10 am Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel, 1201 Fourth Street, Rosenberg, TX 77471.


Visitation will be 5 - 7:00 PM Monday, June 19, 2017, also at Garmany & Carden Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg, TX.


John was born November 30, 1966, in East Bernard, TX, to Marvin and Mary Ann Ohl. He died June 15, 2017. He was the owner of Ohl Style Beef Jerky in Needville, TX. John Dale Ohl, also known as Big John, Jerky Man, and most famously as Johnny Guitar, was loved by many - his boisterous personality and heart of gold will be missed. There is no denying that John loved life to the fullest, was the life of the party, and never met a stranger. If he wasn't singing to you or making you laugh, he was offering you a piece of the "Best Jerky in the Ohl World".


The family would like to thank Joe Castillo, aka Smokey Joe, for his undying friendship and support to John over the years.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Mary Ann Ohl. Survivors include his son, Logan Ohl and fiancee Viviana Velasquez, whom he loved beyond measure and was more proud of than words can say; brothers, Marvin Ohl, Jr. and wife, Carol, Lee Ohl and fiancee, Stacey Schmoekel, and Gary Ohl and wife, Angie; sisters, Karen Mullins, Diane Davis and husband, Chet, and Donna Hutson and husband, Audie; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
