James F. "Jim" McNutt, 81, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025, in Richmond, Texas.

Born on November 19, 1943, in Houston, Texas, Jim was a proud Texan throughout his life. He graduated from Lamar Consolidated High School in Rosenberg, then attended Trinity University in San Antonio. Later he earned his business degree from the University of Texas. Shortly after completing his education Jim joined his father at Guy L. McNutt insurance Agency. After his father's passing, Jim took over the business and led it with dedication and integrity alongside Norma Sierra and Rachel Garcia until it's closing in 2025.

Known for his kind heart and strong work ethic, Jim brought warmth and integrity to every aspect of his life. As a devoted Houston Astro fan, he rarely missed a game on TV and found joy in cheering on his team. Whether a quiet dinner with his wife, gathered around a table playing cards with friends, or enjoying the quiet focus of a hunting trip, he found joy in simple pleasures. He also had a fondness for watching "Shark Tank" on television, always intrigued by the ideas and stories shared on the screen.

Jim is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 60 years, Carol Jean Krenek McNutt; brother Darrell McNutt; as well as a nephew, nieces, and many cousins who will remember him fondly. Since 2019, Jim was cared for with compassion and dedication by Adriana Gomez, Aaliyah Gomez, and Adrian Gomez.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
