Richmond
Jacqueline Wallace Bates, of McComb, finished her long time battle with breast cancer on March 29th, 2020, in her home, in Richmond, TX, at the age of 58.
Jackie was born on October 7th, 1961, in McComb, Mississippi, to Luther and Emogene Wallace. She graduated from McComb High School in 1979. She then went on to obtain her Bachelors' degree in Accounting, and took pride in her numerous accountant positions. Later, she met her husband, Ronald Bates, while working at TG & Y. They unified as one September 11, 1994. Jackie and Ron spent many years raising their four children, spoiling their grandchildren, hosting family events, going on trips, and creating special memories to last a lifetime.
Jackie is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Ronald Bates; children, DePreshuan (Candace) Wallace, Demetrius (LaTisha) Wallace, Curtelya (Tommy) Drummond, and JaRhondra Bates; sisters, Alma Jean (Kenneth) Felder, Sheila Tucker, Carolyn Pearl (Roosevelt) Williams, Matteal (Curtis) Blumenberg, Pamela Jackson, Linda Davis, Cassandra Holmes, Regina Wallace, and Joyce Wallace Adams; brothers, John Edward Wells, Jerry Wells, Sydney Chester, Luther Ray (Lenora) Wallace, and Reginald Wallace; devoted friends, Valine Harvey and Jennifer Rigsby; honorable mention, Amelie; and 17 grandchildren. She is also survived by several beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She is preceded in death by; her parents, Luther Wallace Jr. and Emogene Nunnery Wells Wallace; a sister, Julia Wallace Jordan; two brothers, Danny Wallace and Roger Wallace; and sister-in-law, Bama Jean Wells.
Jackie was a strong, nurturing, and beautiful woman whose smile lit up an entire room. She loved to be surrounded by family and friends, sharing contagious laughter. "MeMa", as her grandchildren knew her, loved all of her grandchildren and made sure all of them knew it. She was big hearted and generous, ready to help anyone however she could. She enjoyed planning family gatherings and cooking. Anyone who has been to a party or tasted her food, knew how exceptional both were. She will truly be missed.
