I. H. (Herman) Barta, 89, of Richmond, TX, passed away on October 11, 2015. Born April 9, 1926, Herman was the third of four children born to Joe and Julia (Dujka) Barta. He grew up in the Fairchilds area and graduated from Richmond High School in 1943. After serving his country during WWII, he returned to the Rosenberg/Richmond area where in 1947 he married his high school sweetheart, Gladys Ehlert of Needville. They had one son, Tim.


He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Julia (Dujka) Barta; two sisters: Helen (Barta) Bryson and Georgia (Barta) Jurchak; and one brother, Victor Barta.

He is survived by his wife of 67+ years, Gladys. He is also survived by his son, Tim Barta, and wife, Terry; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5 - 7:00 PM Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Chapel, 1201 Fourth St./Rosenberg, TX 77471.

Funeral Services will be held 10 AM Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg, TX,with burial following at Greenlawn Cemetery, Rosenberg, TX.
