Hertha Hulda Ellermann Schneider, 96 years old. was born on February 28, 1927, and passed away peacefully on December 14, 2023. Her parents were William Henry Ellermann and Caroline (Lena) Requardt Ellermann.

Hertha married Alvin Schneider on November 28, 1945. They had six children and were married almost 60 years when Alvin passed away in 2005.

She loved her family and was called by many names, like granny, great granny, and Granny Guy! She was a great cook, and her most requested dish was granny rice (a sweet rice with butter, sugar, and cinnamon on top). She will also be remembered for her baking. She always had 3- or 4-gallon jars of various cookies on hand, chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin and diamond cookies. These cookies were enjoyed by all her family, especially on Sunday mornings with a fresh cup of coffee made in her drip coffee pot. She liked gardening and working with her plants and feeding her fish in the pond.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother Reinhardt Ellerman, her sisters Anna Tielke and Regina Hanzik, sons-in-law Richard Zwahr and Marvin (Butch) Kucera.

Hertha is survived by her children, Sharlet Kucera, Glenn Schneider, wife Jeanette, Richard Schneider, wife Sandra, Michael Schneider, wife Jan, Joyce Zwahr, Patty Graeber, husband Brian, 21 grandchildren plus spouses, 42 great grandchildren plus spouses, 5 great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers will include the following grandsons: Duane Kucera, Wes Schneider, Shawn Schneider, Keith Schneider, Jason Zwahr and Jared Graeber. Honorary pallbearers are Daryl Kucera, Kevin Schneider, Trent Zwahr, and Blake Graeber.

Visitation will be 9 - 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Immanuel Evangelical Church, 9018 Church Street, Needville, TX 77461, for one hour before the Funeral Service.

The Funeral Service is set for 10:00 AM Wednesday, also at the church, with Rev. Ron Shifley officiating. The Graveside Service will follow at Guy Public Cemetery, Guy, TX 77444.

The family would like to thank all the caregivers who have given many hours of love and dedication to our mom and granny.
