Funeral services for Herbert G. "Bert" Hill, 47, of Rosenberg, TX, are set for 3:00 PM Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at First Baptist Church, 1117 First Street, Rosenberg, TX 77471, with Rev. Jeff Kluttz and Dr. John Reid officiating. Burial will follow in Davis-Greenlawn Cemetery, Rosenberg, TX 77471.

Visitation will be 2 - 3:00 PM Tuesday at the church, for one hour preceding the funeral service.

Bert was born June 3, 1968, in Rosenberg, TX, to Gene and Helen Hill. He died June 28, 2015, in Sargent, TX. Bert was the devoted pastor of Caney Creek Chapel in Sargent, TX. He was a faithful Christian servant who lived his life for ministry to others, spending countless hours counseling people in need. Bert was very accepting of people. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Rosenberg, where he served as a Deacon and worked with children and youth, especially with the R.A.'s organization. For many years, Bert served as the Camp Director for R.A. Camp in Palacios, TX. He loved the outdoors, and he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Bert touched many lives along the way, and he will be missed by family and friends.

Bert was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Nancy Oppenheim; brother, Mark Hill; grandparents, H.O. and Ann Marie Hill. Survivors include his uncle, Glen H. Hill and wife, Jane; nephew, Andy Oppenheim Hill; half brother, Paul Partin; and cousins, Donny Sebach, Lisa Boatwright, and Laura Hopp.

Memorials may be given in his memory to Caney Creek Chapel, P.O. Box 4026, Sargent, TX 77404.
