Henry "Hank" Walter Carl, Jr.
December 18, 1951 - July 28, 2022

Henry "Hank" Walter Carl, Jr. went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 28, 2022, in Sugarland, Texas, at the age of 70. Hank was born December 18, 1951 in Rantoul, Illinois to Henry and Eileen Carl. He was a very loving and doting father to his children and an extraordinary grandfather. Hank was a Vietnam War Veteran who proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1970 to 1977 and was assigned to the 544th Aerospace Reconnaissance Technical Wing. He revered God and was most fulfilled when he was volunteering at his church, watching sports with his daughter, listening to his son's career dailies, baking Christmas cookies and playing card games with his grandchildren, and joining in on jokes and of course sarcasm (the Carl Family way).

Hank is preceded in death by his brothers David Matthew Carl and Neil Allen Carl. Hank is survived by his loving family; his daughter Jennifer Michelle Carl, son Matthew Andrew Carl and his wife Adrienne; and his grandchildren Mikaela Elizabeth Carl and Levi Maximilian Carl.

Those of us who were blessed to have been a part of his life and all of those who experienced his love – we saw him as someone who loved Jesus Christ, someone you could talk to without feeling judged, and someone who lovingly accepted everyone. We take comfort in knowing he is in the presence of Jesus and no longer suffering from earthly ailments.

A memorial service will be held at the church he loved and called home, Calvary Episcopal Church in Richmond, Texas on Friday, August 12, 2022 at 1500 hours with a small reception afterward. Those who loved Hank and would like to join his celebration of life are welcome to attend.
