Funeral services for Helen A. Mangel, 83, of Richmond, TX, are 10 AM Saturday, August 3, 2013, at the Chapel of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Richmond, TX 77469, with burial in Morton Cemetery, Richmond, TX.


Visitation is 5-7 PM Friday, August 2, 2013, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel, 1201 4th St, Rosenberg, TX 77471.


Helen Agnes Mangel was born January 14, 1930, in Dorchester, MA, to John Sheehan and Mary Brennan Sheehan. She passed away July 31, 2013 in Richmond, TX. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph F. Mangel and her sister, Kay Flaherty. She is survived by her sister, Sister Mary Elizabeth Sheehan; her eight children, Elizabeth Mangel, Joseph F. Mangel, Jr., Dee Maxwell, Jerry Mangel, Dave Mangel, John Mangel, Steve Mangel, and Michael Mangel; twelve grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

After her family, "Miss Helen's" passions were great books and country music (like any pure Irish woman). Some time along the way listen to an old Ray Price or Charlie Pride classic; that would make her day.

Helen fought Alzheimers for many years. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Alzheimer's Association, 2242 W. Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77030.
