Harold Louis Heidemann's Obituary
Funeral services for Harold Louis Heidemann, 77, of Needville, TX, are set for 2:00 PM Monday, July 6, 2015, at Immanuel United Church of Christ, 9018 Church Street, Needville, TX 77461, with Rev. Thomas Schwartz officiating. Burial will follow in the Immanuel United Church of Christ Cemetery, Needville, TX.
Visitation will be 1 - 2:00 PM Monday at the church, for one hour preceding the funeral service.
Harold was born December 15, 1937, in Needville, TX, to Louis Fritz Heidemann and Alvina Steinkamp Heidemann. He died June 30, 2015, in Needville, TX. Harold was a graduate of Needville High School and a 1965 graduate of Sam Houston State College. On October 23, 1965, he married Peggy Caraway, and this year they would have been married 50 years. Mr. Heidemann was a longtime member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Needville, serving on the Church Board for many years. For almost 40 years, he worked as a draftsman for the Texas Highway Department. He enjoyed his time with Little League, serving as a coach and an umpire. Harold also enjoyed gardening, watching baseball (especially the Astros), and watching football. He loved his family, and his nieces and nephews lovingly knew him as "Unc".
Harold was preceded in death by his parents and by other relatives. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Heidemann of Needville, TX; niece and caregiver, Paula Plata of Needville, TX; special great niece, Crystal Plata; sister, Doris Paweleck and husband, Rudy, of Needville, TX; sister-in-law, Joy Miller of Guy, TX; many special nieces and nephews; and many special friends and neighbors, especially Dr. John Stern and his wife, Debbie, Randy and Carol Lehmann, Mike and Kaylin Raska, Mary Agnes Miksch, and Nancy and Freddy Dudley.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be given in his memory to Immanuel United Church of Christ, 9018 Church St., Needville, TX 77461.
