Gladys Minna Tiemann Pape was born July 8, 1917, in Kenney, Texas to Otto and Johanna Lueckemeyer Tiemann. Her prayers were answered on December 10, 2023, in Wharton, Texas, at the age of 106. She was raised on a farm in Austin County and the family then moved to Fort Bend County. When she was around 17 years old, she moved to Houston to become a nanny for 3 young boys. Later she worked at J C Penny and then after taking a business course, she worked at American General. She married Lyttleton (Lyt) Pape on September 2, 1967. She retired from American General around 1978 and she & Lyt moved to Beasley to help take of her father.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lyt Pape; stepson, Larry Pape; brothers Melvin Tiemann and wife Dorothy, and Elton Tiemann; sisters Hilda Roehe and husband Raymond, and Erna Mae Requardt and husband Hugo; and several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

She is survived by her brother Otto Tiemann, Jr. and wife Laverne; sister-in-law Olivia Tiemann; stepdaughter, Dorthella Kana; step grandchildren Wade Logan, Troy Logan, Jodi Pena, Amanda Oborn, and Zachary Pape; 9 step great grandchildren and 10 step great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends; caretaker niece Shirley Warncke and nephew Clifford Roehe, and special step daughter-in-law Lori Castillo and husband Frank.

The family would like to thank Sodalis Senior Living for the care they gave her thru the last years of her life and Wharton Nursing and Rehab for the care they gave her after her hospitalization.

Viewing will be Wednesday, December 13 from 5 to 7 P.M. at Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel, 1201 Fourth Street, Rosenberg, TX 77471.

Funeral Services are set for Thursday, December 14 at 10 A.M. at Friedens United Church of Christ, 7526 Ave I, Beasley, TX 77417, with burial following at Friedens United Church of Christ Cemetery.
