Geraldine "Gerri" as she was known to her friends and "Nanny" to her family was born on September 22, 1941, in Needville, Texas, to Frank and Emilie Kasmir Boone. She was greeted at the gates of Heaven in the early morning hours of Monday, March 29, 2021, She fought a brave battle against sepsis, but the battle became too much for her to win and Jesus called her home while hospitalized at Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital ICU. She was a 1960 graduate of Needville High School and attended San Jacinto School of Nursing in Houston where she obtained her degree as an LVN. Upon graduation she went to work for Houston Methodist Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. She was a caring, compassionate, kind, and generous soul and continued to work as a nurse, until meeting and marrying the love of her life Sem Edward Kegley.

Gerri was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Rosenberg. Some of her happiest memories were made while she was chaperoning youth trips as well as preparing and serving Wednesday night fellowship meals with her friends Becky Redmond and Betty Coatney. She enjoyed cooking and was an excellent cook, but most of all she enjoyed the sisterhood, laughter and fun.

She enjoyed cooking, antiquing, and working word search puzzles sometimes until 3 am. But her true joy when she was with her family. She was an awesome "Nanny", helping to babysit her grandson Joshua Drabek, and great nephew Aaron Poehls, and great nieces Shelby and Abigail Poehls and showered them all with her unselfish love.

Geraldine is survived by her husband of 53 years, Sem Edward Kegley of Beasley, Texas; her son Zane Kegley and partner Viola Martinez of Richmond, Texas; daughter Kelley Drabek and husband Robert of Needville, Texas; grandson Joshua Drabek and wife Kayla of Needville, Tecas; great granddaughter Cheyenne Joy Drabek. She is also survived by her sister Barbara Ann Poehls of Beasley, Texas; nephew Mark Poehls and wife Stephanie; great nieces Shelby Poehls, Abigail Poehls, and great nephew Aaron Poehls as well as sister-in laws Betty Whitson, and Esther Sonnier and husband Woodrow, special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
