Genevieve Matcheski Mikeska, age 75, of Guy, Texas passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2016, in Richmond, TX. She was born December 22, 1940 in Anderson, Texas to Mack and Barbara Matcheski.

In her earlier years she was active in the community with church, school, scouts, and Campfire Girls. She worked as a teacher's aide. Genevieve enjoyed making arts and crafts and going to craft shows, scrapbooking and genealogy.

Her husband, Calvin J. Mikeska, Sr. of Guy, Texas, survives her along with her son, Calvin Mikeska, Jr., her daughter, Kathy Schoener, granddaughter Samantha Campbell and grandson James Schoener, all of Guy, Texas. She is also survived by her sister, Gertrude Kuykendall of Needville, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Jake, Dan, Bill, and Louis Matcheski; sister, Alice Kramer, and daughter Barbara Mikeska.

The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 2016, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Chapel, 3103 School Street, Needville, Texas. Visitation will be 5-7 Friday evening, January 15, 2016, at the funeral chapel.

Memorials may be given in her memory to a favorite church or charity of choice.
