Frances Elaine Trantham Beard, affectionately known as Tissie, passed away with her daughter by her side on Sunday, November 2, 2014, in Sugar Land, Texas. She was born on February 7, 1924, to Gladys Goldsmith Trantham and Herbert R. Trantham, Sr.

She was preceded in death by her parents, teenage son Robert Jr., husband Robert Beard, and brother Herb Trantham and his wife Marjorie.

Tissie spent her early childhood in Fort Worth and then moved to her family's home in Needville Texas. She graduated from Richmond High School and stayed in very close contact with all of her friends throughout their lives. She married Robert on May 1, 1942, and they were happily married for 54 years.

She was loved by many and never met a stranger. Her sense of humor was priceless and her love of singing kept her entertaining anyone who would listen, especially in the later years of her life. She held dear her friends in the Friendship Club, Canasta Club and the Carriage Inn.

She is survived by her loving family, daughter Vicki Beard Polak, her granddaughters Cindy Polak Kahanek, Natalie Polak Munro and husband Joey Munro, great grandsons Ryan Kahanek (Natasha), Mason Munro and Matthew Munro, and great granddaughter Haley Munro, as well as many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Pallbearers will be Joey Munro, Ryan Kahanek, Mason Munro, Matthew Munro, Mark Mesker and Sidney Beard. Honorary Pallbearers are her nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, November 7, 2014, from 6 - 8 p.m. and Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 8, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. Both will be held at the Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel, 3103 School Street, Needville, TX 77461, with burial following at the Needville Public Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to a charity of choice.
