Funeral Services for Florence "Flo" Loesch Skinner, 84, of Edmond, Oklahoma, are set for 10 AM Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel, 1201 Fourth Street, Rosenberg, TX 77471, with burial following in Davis Greenlawn Cemetery, Rosenberg, TX.

Visitation will be 5 - 7:00 PM Monday, June 18, 2018, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel in Rosenberg, TX.

Florence was born on July 29, 1933, at her family's home in Gay Hill, Texas. Flo attended Lamar High School in Rosenberg, Texas, where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Bill Skinner, on February 7, 1954. Her first job was at Herfort Diamond Factory. Following their marriage, Flo and Bill accepted a position managing and operating a drive-in movie theater. Florence operated the concession stand and grill while Bill operated and changed the movie reels. A career in the oil industry necessitated several moves during the early part of Bill's career. In 1973, Bill and Flo moved to Midland, Texas where they lived until 2015 when they relocated to Oklahoma to be closer to family. During their more than 40 years in Midland, Bill and Flo were active members of their local Lutheran church and other community organizations such as the Midland Women's Club.

After moving to Midland, Flo took a job in the registrar's office of Midland College. Her smiling face and sunny disposition made her the perfect person to help new and existing students pursue their educational goals. In her free time, Flo enjoyed playing bridge and dominos. Throughout her life, during good times and bad, Flo always maintains a positive attitude and a deep and abiding faith in God.

She is survived by her daughter Sharon and husband James Yorek of Edmond, Oklahoma; her son, David Skinner and wife Barbara of Liberal, Kansas; and her daughter-in-law Marlise Skinner of Houston, Texas. She is also survived by five grandchildren Jacob Skinner, Sarah Skinner, Emily Skinner, Jennifer Yorek, Charles Yorek and his wife Kelly, and two great-grandchildren, James and Reece. She was preceded in death by her husband Willie Clyde (Bill) Skinner, Sr., her son, Willie Clyde "Billy" Skinner, Jr, and her parents Edwin Loesch and Clara Narramore.
