A Celebration of Life originally planned for Fern Lytle will not be held due to covid concerns.

Fern Lucille Shaffer Lytle passed away on November 2, 2021 at the age of 91 years old.

She was preceded in death by her father, Durwood R. Shaffer, mother, Lucille Reed Shaffer, brother, William "Son" Shaffer, and sister, Dorothy Riggs.

Fern is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, James "Jimmie" Lytle; son James Michael Lytle and wife, Debra Bacon; and daughter Cindy Lytle Bryan and husband, Bill Bryan.

She is further survived by four grandchildren, Paul Michael Lytle and wife, Josie Lytle; Jill Lytle Wilson and husband, Jared Wilson; Jennifer Foxworth and husband, Tyler Foxworth; and Michelle D. Ullrich and husband, Jake Ullrich. Fern is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Jonathan Ullrich, Luke Ullrich, J.J. Foxworth, Bryan Foxworth, Christian Lytle, and Charis Lytle.

She enjoyed following, attending and watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren's sports, special events, and activities, bragging on them at every opportunity.

Fern loved collecting kitchen things and dishes, especially if it had to do with Christmas. She always wanted everyone to be at her house and enjoy themselves, especially for the holidays. She had a unique way of putting everyone at ease and making them feel welcome. She made all of our friends feel like family and feel important.

Fern loved cats, especially Pumpkin, who was by her side or in her lap until the end.
