Esther Gaskamp Oberhoff's Obituary
Esther Gaskamp Oberhoff, 93, of Needville, Texas, passed away Friday, March 13, 2016, in Richmond, Texas. She was born September 21, 1922, in Long Point, Texas to parents Willie and Hedwig Gaskamp.
She was a loving, caring mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was just an amazing, hard-working, beautiful lady, who will be missed dearly. She loved picking cotton, quilting, gardening, polka dancing, fishing and spending time with loved ones. She was a member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Needville. She was truly a blessing to all that knew her.
She is survived by 2 sons: Clarence Oberhoff and wife, Barbara; Elwood Oberhoff and wife, Etta, all of Needville; 10 grandchildren: Tammy Reynolds and husband, Mike, of Houston; Cody Oberhoff of Rosenberg; Kim Harwell and husband, Ray of Brookshire; Deni McKay and husband, John of Katy; Patricia Bishop and husband, Curtis of Needville; Irene Otto and husband, Ron of Richmond; Frankie Lee of Georgia; Bobbie Jean of California, Robert of San Antonio and Diane of Georgia; 28 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; 1 brother, Marvin Gaskamp of Buda, TX; special nieces Carrie Bozarth and Diana Garner; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Mrs. Oberhoff was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edwin Oberhoff; sisters, Evelyn Gaskamp, Anita Thomason and Edna Meyen; 2 brothers, Edward Gaskamp and Alfred Gaskamp.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Monday, May 16, 2016 at Garmany & Carden Funeral Chapel, 3103 School Street, Needville, TX 77461 with Pastor Don Brdecka officiating. Burial will follow in Needville Public Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-7 pm Sunday, May 15, 2016, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Chapel, Needville, TX 77461.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Cody Oberhoff, Mike Reynolds, Justin Reynolds, Dr. John Stern, Cody Bozarth, and Curtis Bishop.
Memorial gifts may be designated to the charity of your choice.
