Funeral Services for Emil Straznicky of Needville, TX, are set for 10 AM Friday, August 9, 2019, at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, 9122 Church Street, Needville, TX 77461, with burial following in Needville Public Cemetery, Needville, TX 77461.

Visitation will be 5 - 8 PM Thursday, August 8, 2019, at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Needville, TX 77461.

Emil Straznicky, age 96, went to heaven on August 5, 2019. Emil was born on Nov. 14, 1922 in Needville, TX, the son of Joe and Angie Straznicky.

On October 1, 1945, he married Ruby Schwettman, and they lived on their farm together for 63 years. Emil farmed cotton and also worked 2 miles from his home at a gas refinery. Emil and Ruby loved to dance to Czech and country music, and they attended many dances throughout their years together. He was a member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Needville. Emil was a simple man and he loved simple things. He served his country during WWll in the U. S. Army, with his tour of duty that included the Rhineland campaign. Emil loved his family and he loved the Lord.

Emil was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby, in 2008; his brothers, Henry and Bennie Straznicky; and his sisters, Bessie Deiss and Marcella Schwettman. His parents also preceded him in death, Joe and Angie Straznicky and his stepmother Emma. He is survived by sons Ricky and wife Belinda, and Murray and wife Cathy; his grandchildren, Kasi Hedt, Mindy Hall, Stuart Straznicky, Adam Straznicky, and Steve Straznicky; his great grandchildren, Charlotte and Avery Straznicky, Nathan and Annabelle Straznicky, Stella and Kingston Straznicky, Carter and Presli Hedt, and Cameron and Kenadi Hall. Our "papa" and "great papa" will be missed.
