Elizabeth Mangel (68) died peacefully on March 28 , 2018, with her son by her side. Elizabeth was born in Boston, MA, on November 6, 1949, but made it to Texas as soon as she could.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Helen Mangel. She is survived by her son, Paul Long (Kilgore), and her siblings, Joe Mangel (Richmond), DeeDee Maxwell (Palacios), Jerry Mangel (Richmond), David Mangel ( Fulshear ), John Mangel (Richmond), Steven Mangel ( Fulshear ), and Michael Mangel (Rosenberg). In addition to her son and siblings, she is survived by a great number of supportive nieces and nephews, as well as loving in-laws (past, present, and future).

Elizabeth wa s known for her caring nature. She never knew a stranger, and she was always excited to spend time with her grand-dogs. She was an avid reader and enjoyed road trips with her son. Elizabeth was a strong supporter of the Texas Aggies. She was a fan of westerns and war movies, as well as both classic and Texas country ; she loved attending concerts. She had a passion for history and could bake one mean apple pie . Hard working was a phrase often used to describe he r. She very much lean ed on her Catholic upbringing. Elizabeth had the memory of an elephant. Above all, she loved her family and was proud to be the oldest sibling of the Mangel clan .

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, April 6, 2018, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel, 1201 Fourth Street , Rosenberg, TX 77471.
