Effie Mae Vogler's Obituary
Funeral services for Effie Mae Williams Vogler, 87, of Rosenberg, TX, are set for 10 AM Saturday, January 25, 2014, at Calvary Baptist Church, 4111 Airport Avenue, Rosenberg, TX 77471, with Rev. Larry Howie officiating. Burial will follow in Davis-Greenlawn Cemetery, Rosenberg, TX.
Visitation will be 5 - 7:00 PM Friday, January 24, 2014, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Chapel, 1201 Fourth Street, Rosenberg, TX 77471.
She was born Effie Mae Williams on March 5, 1926, in Needville, TX, to Laura and Marion Eugene (Buck) Williams. She passed away January 20, 2014, at SPJST Nursing Home in Needville, TX. She lived in Rosenberg for 63 years, and was married to Curbie Vogler for 52 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, the American Legion of Rosenberg, and the Polka Dance Club. She worked for Judge Jim Baker and for the Scherer, Roberts, Slone, Grisham, Lytle and Moore Law Firm. Effie enjoyed her family and riding around at the farm in Damon, looking at the cows. She also loved to dance with Curbie and lead Grand Marches at weddings and anniversaries. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Mrs. Vogler was preceded in death by her husband, Curbie Vogler; her parents, Laura and Marion Eugene (Buck) Williams; sisters, Emogene Winebrenner of Damon, and Merrell Lee Platt of Baytown; brothers, Claude Williams of Gretna, Louisiana, and Joe Williams of Needville.
Survivors include Mark and Susan Vogler of Needville, TX, Nancy and Hulon Kirkland of Morton, TX, and Vicki Vogler of Brazoria, TX; 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and one due in February; ssiter, Isabelle Watson of Denver, CO; sister-in-law, Sharon Williams of Needville, TX; numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous friends whom she loved greatly.
Memorials may be given in her memory to Calvary Baptist Church, 4111 Airport Avenue, Rosenberg, TX 77471.
