Edward Anthony Hupe, age 62, passed away peacefully in East Bernard, Texas, on December 5, 2025. Born on February 2, 1963, in Houston, Texas, to Elroy Hupe and Helen (Mazan) Hupe, he was the middle child and only son.

Edward had always known what he wanted to do in life and that was to drive, operate, and repair farming and trucking equipment. As a young adult, he became friends with local farmers and commercial drivers who mentored him and became his lifelong friends. Edward operated his own business, Pintail Transport, specializing in heavy haul loads. He took great pride in his craft and was dedicated to performing his work professionally and, at all times, safely.

Edward loved his surrounding community of Ft. Bend, Wharton, and Austin counties. Many knew him as a gentle giant with a big heart. He always had a smile and time to talk. He loved to cook and to share his culinary efforts with his neighbors. He had a huge soft spot for animals, especially cats, as many of his friends and acquaintances knew.

He is survived by his two sisters, Carmel Hupe and Mary Kylberg, her husband, Roger Kylberg, and his nephew and nieces, Eric Kylberg, Kristen Geesaman, and Lauren Kylberg.

Services will be performed at Holy Cross Catholic Church (839 Church St., East Bernard, TX 77435) on Friday, December 12, 2025. Visitation will be held in the church from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Reciting of the Rosary is at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass promptly at 10:00 a.m. The burial will be at 1:00 p.m. at Industry Methodist Church Cemetery (1914 Main Street, Industry, TX 78944).
