Funeral services for Doris Elvira Caldwell, 87, of Rosenberg, TX, are set for 1:00 PM Thursday, May 23, 2013, at First United Methodist Church 1127 Third Street, Rosenberg, TX 77471, with Rev. John Black officiating. Burial will follow in Davis-Greenlawn Cemetery, Rosenberg, TX 77471.


Doris was born November 19, 1925, in Frederick, OK, to James Wilbur Phillips and Mabel Candace Hershey Phillips. She died May 20, 2013, in Rosenberg, TX. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Rosenberg, and the Women's Society. She was also a member of the Women's Geophysical Society.


Mrs. Caldwell was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband of 62 years, Charles E. Caldwell, Jr.; and by her sister, Eugenia Erskin. Survivors include 5 children, Phyllis Crowley of Rosenberg, TX, Margaret Kleinhans and husband, Richard, of Huntington, TX, Charles Caldwell and wife, Caydee, of Rosenberg, TX, Joy Schaatt and husband, Jeff, of Richmond, TX, and Patty Gonzales and husband, Jimmy, of Rosenberg, TX; 9 grandchildren: Chris Crowley, Rich Kleinhans, Melissa Detweiler, Chelsea Caldwell, Jessica McClain, Julie McClain, Jenna Schaatt, John Gonzales, and Emily Benson; 5 great grandchildren; brother, William Phillips, and numerous other relatives.
