Doris Faye Heidemann Paweleck, age 92, of Needville passed away on February 5, 2021, in Brookshire, Texas. She was born in Prairie Hill, outside of Brenham, TX, on July 4, 1928, to Louis F. and Alvina Steinkamp Heidemann.

She grew up on a farm near Snake Creek, attended grade school at Williams School outside of Needville and graduated from Beasley High School. It was here where she met the love of her life, Rudolph "Rudy" Paweleck. They married on June 22, 1947, and they had been married almost 70 years when Rudy passed away on March 23, 2017.

Doris's main priority in life was being a wife and a mother to her two sons and an amazing grandma and Gigi to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also owned and operated a chain of grocery stores with her husband. Years later, she stocked groceries at Ladd's Zero Market and also worked at Lad Pak for 20 plus years before she retired. She was a Christ follower and lifetime member of Immanuel Evangelical Church in Needville. She enjoyed dominoes, gardening, the Friday Senior Citizen meals at the church, and spending time with friends and family.

Doris is preceded in death by her husband Rudy, her parents and her brother Harold Heidemann. She is survived by her son  Kevin and daughter-in-law Lisa Gooch of Needville; son Mark of Beasley; her granddaughter Dr. Jennifer Bellingrodt and husband Mark of Buckeye, Arizona; granddaughter Ashley Lemmond and husband Chad of Damon; granddaughter Cortney Paweleck and fiance Sean McCrackin of Rosenberg; great-grandchildren Jett and Piper Bellingrodt and Beckett Lemmond; and sister-in-law Peggy Heidemann of Needville.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 10, at Immanuel Evangelical Church located at 9018 Church Street in Needville, Texas 77461 at 10 am with the funeral service following at 11 am. Burial will be in the Immanuel Evangelical Church Cemetery following the funeral service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Bellingrodt, Chad Lemmond, Sean McCrackin, Greg Gooch, Paul Gutowsky and Earl Pastor. Honorary pallbearers will be Doris's three great-grandchildren, Jett and Piper Bellingrodt and Beckett Lemmond.

The family would like to extend their deep appreciation to the staff at Brookshire Residence and Rehab Center and Memorial Hermann hospitals in Katy and Sugar Land for their kindness, concern and excellent care of our mother and Gigi.
