Donald Wayne Strickland was born on February 20, 1948 in Louisville, MS to William and his wife Ernestine (Ford) Strickland.

Wayne was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend of many. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a technology expert who enjoyed and respected those he worked with. Since he was young boy he had a love and fascination with nature and animals. He was a loyal Ole Miss football and Houston Astros baseball fan. Live music, especially the Eagles, was a passion he enjoyed sharing with his wife often. He loved living life to the fullest and being with family.

He is survived by his true love and wife of 33 years, Patricia (Adams) Powers and their children Pamela (Powers) Murray, David Powers and Greg Powers. He was a loving brother and will be missed by his sisters Lynda (Strickland) Gillis and Lynn (Strickland) Gregory and their daughters, son and grandchildren. Wayne and Pat were blessed to have 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

He was called to his eternal rest on May 17, 2018 at the age of 70 years in Houston, TX where he lived most of his life.

Memorial services have been set for 10AM Saturday, May 26, Westheimer Community Church, 15635 Westheimer Rd., Houston TX 77082
