Dianne Mitchell Self passed away on March 28, 2021 at the age of 71.

A Memorial Service will be held 11 AM Friday, April 2, 2021, at Parkway Fellowship Church, 27043 FM 1093⁣, Richmond, Texas 77406. If you are unable to attend in person, the service will be live streamed at http://parkwayfellowship.com/live

Dianne was born on March 1, 1950 in Birmingham, Alabama to Lt. Clarence David and Kelsie Mitchell. Dianne lived in many places during her childhood due to her father being an officer in the Air Force. She lived in Guatemala, China, Houston and her favorite being Colorado Springs. She graduated from Memorial High School in Houston in 1969 and furthered her education at Stephen F Austin College.

Dianne's greatest dream was to be a mother and have a big family. She was a mother of three but a second mother to many of her children's friends. She always made herself available to anyone who needed advice and was the best listener.

Dianne was one of a kind with a big heart. She loved her family, friends, neighbors and church community. She was always willing to help others. Dianne had her own unique style which included fringe, bling, feathers and glitter!

She loved eating out with family and friends and it was not uncommon for her to order dessert with her meals. One of her favorite desserts is the Chocolate Thunder From Down under at Outback Steakhouse.

Dianne loved snow and loved to travel to visit family and friends especially if she could see snow at the same time.

She is survived by her brother Richard Mitchell; son Shannon David Self; daughter Dawn Self Steph and husband Dana Taylor Steph and their children Madyson and Braylee; son Chad Kade Self and wife Amanda Self and children Kenzie and Ainslee; and ex-husband Alex Hewitt Self. Dianne is preceded in death by her parents Colonel Clarence David Mitchell and Kelsie Jones Mitchell.

She was born Kelsie Dianne Mitchell and leaves us as Dianne Mitchell Self and will be greatly missed but seen again one day!
