Dennis William
Krause, Jr.
Jul 25, 1941 — Jun 10, 2018
Beasley
Dennis William Krause Jr, 76, of Beasley from his days as a youth helping tend his family's farm, to the years of being a well-known mechanic/machinist, and volunteer firefighter, Dennis was part of the fabric of the community. He began his passion for serving in the US Army from 1963-1965. He continued offering his services when he settled back home in Beasley. The safety and well-being of his neighbors in this rural town was important to him as he served over 45 years as a volunteer for the Beasley Fire Department. He retired from the fire department as Assistant Chief in 2007, but continued to be a driving force in the department, especially their annual fundraisers. He also loved to help serve the surrounding community fire departments with their annual fundraisers.
Dennis was born in July 1941 to Dennis Sr. and Viola Krause in Rosenberg, Texas. We know he was welcomed home into Heaven by his loving parents, and his first grandson, Everett Lane Guest. Dennis passed away at home on Sunday, June 10, 2018. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Dorothy; their children Dwayne Krause and wife Bernadette, Denise Guest and husband Chad; grandsons Lane, Luke and Lee Guest; step grandsons CJ Fink and wife Amanda and daughters Annabel and Abigail, Dustin Fink and wife Jessica and daughter Jerilynn; his sister Joyce Kelm and husband Charles and their children. Dennis loved Dorothy's family as his own and will be greatly missed by her brother and sisters and all of their families.
Dennis enjoyed hunting and fishing, tending to his cows, listening to classic country and polka music and sharing wonderful memories with his family and friends. Pitching horseshoes was a hobby of his and he was a member of the Horseshoe Club in East Bernard for several years. He loved to barbeque and is well known for his BBQ sauce, to which only a few were lucky enough to get the recipe. He also enjoyed competing in cook-offs with the Bohemian Hill Cook-off team.
Dennis was lovingly known as 'Boppa' to his grandsons and they have been blessed to have had him in their lives.
