Della Mae Metz, beloved wife, mother, and sister, of Rosenberg, Texas, went to be with our Lord on December 23, 2020 at the age of 94. She was born September 8, 1926 to Adolph and Betty Novak on the family farm near Pleak, Texas. She was married to the love of her life A. F. "Al" Metz for over 50 years and they had six children. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Al, sons William Andrew Metz and Michael Metz. She is survived by her daughters Elaine Veselka and her husband Alton "Red" Veselka, and Cindy Metz; sons Charles Metz and James Metz; grandchildren, Holly Martin and her husband Michael Martin, Justin Veselka, Andrea Metz, and Brian Metz. She has a great grandson on the way that she would have cherished. She is also survived by a brother, Raymond Novak, and a sister, Loretta Gaskamp.

Della especially enjoyed gardening and flowers, reading, and sewing. She was often heard saying how happy it made her that she had been able to make clothes for her girls. She was well known in Rosenberg for her skills as a seamstress. But what really made her most happy was when she and Al were able to go out dancing. She loved to dance with him and missed him greatly after his death.

She was a faithful lifelong member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg and of the Catholic Daughters of America at Holy Rosary. She was also a member of AARP and a member of the Eastern Star chapter in Rosenberg.
