David Wayne Mensik sadly passed away on January 11, 2024, at the age of 59, in Missouri City, Texas.

David was born in Wharton, Texas, on December 14, 1964. He was preceded in death by his stepfather Alfred Dobson Jr. David is survived by his mother Barbara Dobson, father Teddy Mensik, stepmother Judy Mensik, brother Darren Mensik and his wife Lenore Mensik, nephew Jacob Mensik, sister Emilie Dobson, stepbrother Jason McDaniel and his wife Cathy McDaniel.

David graduated from Lamar Consolidated High School in 1983. After graduating high school, he went to Texas State Technical Institute in Waco, Texas, where he earned a degree in Culinary Arts. Following his passion for cuisine and menu creation, he worked as an Executive Chef for Weston Lakes Country Club in Fulshear, Texas, and Onion Creek Country Club in Austin, Texas. David spoke favorably of the long hours he worked running the restaurant facilities because he found joy in culinary art. He genuinely enjoyed the whole process of procuring, preparing, cooking, and serving meals. He was creative in blending recipes and strove to deliver a perfect experience for customers. He loved spending time in the kitchen creating delicious meals for family and friends.

David was an animal person. His favorite dog breed was the Chesapeake Bay Retriever. He owned three, Gus, Cody, and Woody, and very much cherished spending time with them . He was also enthusiastic for others' pets and thoroughly enjoyed their company when visiting family and friends.

A Memorial Service is scheduled for Friday, February 16th at 10:00 AM at the Garmany & Carden Funeral Funeral Directors Chapel located at 1201 4th St, Rosenberg, TX 77471.
