Funeral services for David Marvin Davenport, 74, of Needville, TX, are set for 10 AM Friday, March 28, 2014, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel, 3103 School Street, Needville, TX 77461, with Dr. Donnie Melton officiating. Burial will follow at Needville Public Cemetery, Needville, TX.

David was born January 26, 1940, in Corpus Christi, TX, to William Henry Davenport, Sr. and Opal Viola Miller Davenport. He served in the US Navy, and by occupation was a grocery produce manager.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his wife, Sandra Davenport. Survivors include 2 daughters, Linda Sue Davenport and Leslie Ann Davenport both of Atchison, KS; brother, William Davenport of Marietta, GA; sisters, Bonnie Sue Sigmon and husband, Steve, of Floresville, TX; Jodean Marie Hansen and husband, Ernest A., of Lafayette, LA, and Charlene Mae Dean and husband, Larry, of Atchison, KS; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
