Charles Frederick
Mahler Ii
Feb 2, 1952 — Mar 5, 2025
Richmond
Charles Mahler II went to be with the Lord on March 5, 2025, at the age of 73, while at his home in Richmond, Texas. He was born on February 1, 1952, in Richmond, Texas, to Balke and Amelia "Amy" Mahler. He went to elementary school in Alief before moving to the family land in 1964 and attended Lamar Consolidated schools until his high school graduation. He then went on to attend Texas A&M University until 1973. At A&M, he served in the Corps of Cadets and was a member of Ross Volunteers. He worked in real estate and construction until his retirement.
He met the love of his life in 1978 in Houston on a blind date. They married in August of 1980. They raised their three children on family land in Richmond. He was a long time and devoted member of Grace Community Bible Church where he served as an elder and a deacon. He had a servant's heart and his faith in the Lord was strong. He volunteered for several local organizations including Helping Hands in Rosenberg and Grace International Children's Foundation. People knew him as the "Big Guy". Despite his imposing height, he was often gentle and always respectful of others. He let people know that they were welcomed and loved. He took joy in the little things, like making sure his bird feeder was always full and the birds had a place to rest and eat, or watching the deer walk through the pastures at sunrise. His love for his family and friends was unwavering and unlimited.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Balke and Amy Mahler, his brother Balke "Buddy" Mahler Jr., brothers-in-law Dale Warn and Robert Tipton, sister-in-law, Dot Mahler, nephew Casey Tipton, parents-in-law Robert and Bess Lee, and countless other loved family members and friends.
He is survived by his wife of almost 45 years, Paula Lee Mahler, sons Eric Mahler and Trey Mahler, daughter Amanda Mahler, his sister Dru Warn, and brother Bill Mahler, sister-in-law Pam Tipton, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones.
