Carol Jean Seiler Preuss was born in Sugar Land, Texas, on March 9, 1945, to Johnnie and Rosa Seiler. She passed away September 3, 2024, at home in Needville, Texas. The youngest of two children, she grew up in Needville, Texas, and graduated from Needville High School in 1963. That same year, on November 23, she married her high school sweetheart, Robert Preuss.

Carol and Robert made their home in Rosenberg, where she became a beloved cafeteria lady for Lamar CISD, serving at schools including Bowie Elementary, Navarro Middle, and finally retiring from Deaf Smith Elementary. Known for her kindness and warm smile, Carol was cherished by students and colleagues alike.

Carol had a deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures. She was an avid collector of porcelain flowers, bells, outhouses, and Coca-Cola memorabilia. Her love of cross-stitching and gardening reflected her patient and nurturing spirit. Carol enjoyed baking and was known for her delicious sweet rice, a special treat she lovingly prepared for family gatherings. She often relaxed with an ice-cold Diet Coke and a bowl of Blue Bell's Banana Split ice cream while watching the Game Show Network. She also treasured time spent at her farm in Needville, where she found peace and joy in nature.

Preceding Carol in death were her parents, Johnnie Seiler and Rosa Gerken, her brother, Clarence John "CJ" Seiler, his wife Dorothy, and her beloved husband, Robert Preuss.

She is survived by her son James Preuss; daughter Peggy Preuss Ybarra and her husband, Daniel Ybarra; granddaughter Briana Ybarra and her boyfriend, Justin Thumann; grandson Dustin Driskell and his wife, Hannah Driskell; and great-grandson Daxton Driskell. Carol is also lovingly remembered by her brother-in-law Wilbert Preuss, his wife Janice Preuss, and numerous extended family members.

Carol's legacy of love, dedication, and joy lives on through her family and all who knew her. Her warmth and generous spirit will be deeply missed.

Funeral Services will be held 10 AM Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Creekside Christian Fellowship, 16628 TX-36, Needville, Texas 77461, with the Graveside Service immediately following at Needville Public Cemetery.

The Visitation/Viewing will be held from 9 - 10 AM Saturday, September 7, 2024, also at the church, for one hour preceding the Funeral Service.
